Explosive gas detector CARCANARY

CarCanary is an electronic device for the detection of explosive gases (LPG or car gases), which are used to drive cars. It can detect very low concentrations of explosive gases. When the alert level is exceeded, the device emits a light and sound signal. The alarm stays on as long as the explosive gas is present.

Available in two versions:
  • with a connecting cable, for connecting into a 12V car socket,
  • without a connecting cable, for installation into the gas system.

When the device is connected, the modes are as follows:
  • TEST: for about 20 seconds the green, red and orange LED diodes will blink in intervals of one second.
  • OK: the proper operation of the device is when there is no gas present and is signalled with a green flashing LED diode.
  • ALARMwhen the explosive gas alert level is exceeded, the sound signal and the red LED diode beep and flash together impulsively (at 15% LEL). If the concentration of explosive gas continues to rise (> 25% LEL), the speed (intensity) of the beeping sound alert and the red LED diode flashing increases. The alarm will not turn off as long as the explosive gas is present. Only when the explosive gas is removed, will the alarm switch off.
  • Error: if an error appears on the sensor, the sound signal and the orange LED light will simultaneously beep and flash impulsively. The device is not functioning correctly. Service or replacement is required.
